Kishor Bharti

Biography

Dr. Kishor Bharti is a senior scientist at IHPC, A*STAR Singapore, and an investigator at A*STAR Q.InC. He is also a visiting faculty member at CQuERE in India, an adjunct assistant professor at SUTD, and serves as an editor at Quantum journal. His research interests are diverse, covering areas such as quantum device certification, quantum machine learning, quantum error correction, quantum complexity theory, near-term quantum computing, and pseudorandomness. Through his research, he tries to develop protocols for certification and benchmarking of third-party quantum devices that are accessible via cloud, under minimal assumptions. Additionally, his work seeks to pinpoint particular applications where quantum devices have the potential to outperform classical systems. He is interested in both practical and rigorous protocols that can showcase this quantum advantage. A key part of his research is to understand the impact of noise on the performance of quantum systems and to quantify the extent of quantum advantage that can be achieved despite this noise. He also focuses on developing strategies to mitigate noise with limited resources.
